The Rusnano Corporation has proposed covering Moscow roads with asphalt from recycled car tires, reports M24.ru.
Asphalt with rubber crumbs has already been laid on Pyatnitskaya Street, the experiment can be continued on other streets of Moscow.
To make such a coating, you need to grind the tires to powder. Such roads are more stable and can be repaired 1.5 times less often, Rusnano promises.
Moscow City Duma deputies decided that old tires from Moscow car owners could be used for such a project. Motorists pay about 150 rubles for each tire for recycling. From one tire weighing 6 kg you can make 1.8 kg of crumb rubber. If motorists themselves hand over the covers for future asphalt, perhaps they will be able to get paid for it themselves.
Ivan Novitsky, a member of the Moscow City Duma Commission on Environmental Policy, believes that this idea will inspire Moscow car owners and help the environment. “Even a city could do this to improve the environment. But everything needs to be calculated first,” said the deputy
