
On the day of the blood donor, which in many countries of the world is celebrated on June 14, the main rabbi of Russia Berl Lazar (Theor - the Russian Federation of the Jewish communities of Russia ) donated blood at the Sklifosovsky ambulance research institute.
“In my opinion, each person is obliged to donate blood at least several times in his life. This should become the norm of behavior, just like helping the elderly in the crossing of the road. By behaving in this way, a person shows the neighbor and helps society to become better,” the rabbi’s word with which he addressed the journalists as saying.
On the same day, a round table was held in the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation dedicated to the participation of religious organizations and business representatives in the country's donor movement.
Among the participants in the round table are the main rabbi of Russia Berl Lazar, representatives of the Council of the Muftis of Russia, the Russian Orthodox Church, the leaders of large business, the leaders of public organizations, experts from the Ministry of Health and the FMBA, the Jewish News Agency reports.
Within the framework of this event, a presentation of the Donor mobile system was held, which includes virtual awards for donating blood on social networks and remuneration for donors from commercial companies.
