American Microsoft and Facebook corporations on Friday revealed information about the requests received by the US intelligence services - almost 20 thousand were released for two.
Facebook reported in her official blog that in the second half of 2012 she received from 9 to 10 thousand such requests, which affected 19 thousand users of the social network. As explained in the company, law enforcement agencies were interested in issues related to criminal cases and national security. In particular, Facebook noted, the competent authorities of the United States received certain data from users from the social network in connection with the investigation of children's abductions, the search for fugitives and the fight against terrorism.
Microsoft said that during the same period she received 6-7 thousand requests from the special services, they concerned 31-32 thousand users of the company's resources. Representatives of the corporations explained that to disclose data on such requests that were previously not subject to disclosure allowed an agreement with the competent authorities of the United States.
