Press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov and Press Secretary of the Head of Government Natalya Timakova deny information about the resignation of the head of Russian Railways Vladimir Yakunin

“I can officially say that Vladimir Yakunin did not resign from the post of president of Russian Railways,” Alexander Pirkov, a spokesman for the president of Russian Railways, told Interfax. “Apparently, we are dealing with an action of hackers who were sent out on behalf of the press service of the government announcement of Yakunin's resignation. This message was received by all the leading world and Russian news agencies."

The relevant information appeared on the Russian Railways website: "The press service of Russian Railways officially declares that the information disseminated in the media about personnel changes in the company is not true."

According to Ekho Moskvy , Yakunin's resignation was also denied by the press secretary of the President of Russia, Dmitry Peskov, and the press secretary of the head of government, Natalia Timakova. The IT service of RIA Novosti has established that the message about Yakunin's resignation came from an IP address that does not match the address of the government press service.

Recall that earlier Interfax reported that Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree dismissing Vladimir Yakunin, president of the Russian Railways OJSC, and appointed Alexander Misharin, first vice-president of the OJSC, to this position by another decree.
