Police in the Stavropol region detained members of a criminal group suspected of fraud of 100 million rubles

A criminal case for fraud on an especially large scale has been initiated against employees of the administration and entrepreneurs of the Andropovsky district of the Stavropol Territory, the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Stavropol Territory reported on Thursday.

During operational search activities, it was established that employees of the administration of the Novoyankulsky village council and entrepreneurs of the Andropovsky district from 2008 to 2013 took possession of land plots using forged documents.

“The police have information about 3 thousand hectares of agricultural land being illegally appropriated. The total amount of material damage caused to the state may exceed 100 million rubles,” the report says.

Following searches at the residence addresses and places of work of the suspects, police found documents confirming their illegal activities.

“To date, four active members of the criminal group have been detained. Ammunition was found and seized from one of them - 350 rounds of 7.62 mm caliber,” the department notes.

Based on this fact, a criminal case has been initiated for fraud on an especially large scale.
