Savelyev: Aeroflot still has claims against Berezovsky for $200 million

Aeroflot still has claims against Boris Berezovsky for another $200 million, said the airline 's general director Vitaly Savelyev at the shareholders meeting.

“Part of the assets that belonged to Boris Abramovich during his lifetime are under arrest, and we hope to return everything to the end. Aeroflot tried for 10 years to return those 57 million francs. And I want to responsibly tell you that thanks to the new legal service of Aeroflot, we have this managed to do it," Savelyev said.

Russian law enforcement agencies became interested in Berezovsky in the second half of the 1990s, when a loud scandal broke out related to the misappropriation of Aeroflot's currency funds by the Swiss company Andava, one of the main shareholders of which was Berezovsky. In 2007, the Savelovsky Court of Moscow found him guilty of stealing 215 million rubles from the airline. and sentenced in absentia to six years in prison. Aeroflot demanded compensation for damage caused to the company in the amount of about 720 million rubles.
