UEFA left "Fenerbach" and "Besiktash" without European competitions

The UEFA (KDI) control and disciplinary authority announced decisions following the results of disciplinary proceedings regarding the clubs "Fenerbahce" (Turkey), "Besiktash" (Turkey) and "Stayaa" (Romania), the press service of UEFA informs.

KDI carefully studied the situation in the Fenerbahch and "Besiktash" case and applied the following sanctions: "Besiktash" was removed from the performance in the Europa League UEFA-2013/14, and "Fenerbach" was removed from the performance in the next three tournaments of the UEFA, including the UEFA-2013/14 Champions League. The punishment for the third season was made conditionally with a test period of five years.

According to the results of the 2012/13 season, Fenerbahce took second place in the Turkish championship, and also reached the semifinals of the Europa League. Besiktash finished the third in the championship.

CDI also carefully analyzed the situation in the Staua case and, given some mitigating circumstances, decided to remove the club from a speech in one UEFA tournament in which he could take part. The punishment was made conditionally with a test period of five years.

All clubs have the opportunity to appeal the KDI decisions in UEFA.

In addition, in relation to the representatives of Fenerbach and Besiktash, who are held in the case, KDI will collect additional information with the aim of a more detailed study of the circumstances associated with each specific person.

The investigation of the scandal of contractual matches in Turkey was launched in July 2011. The striker of the Moscow football club Spartak Emmanuel Emmenika, who was taken intoquiries , butthen justified , also came under suspicion. The case against the Stayaa is openly on the basis of articles by the UEFA-2013/14 Champions League regulations related to the criteria for admission to UEFA tournaments.
