In the St. Petersburg wedding palace on the Griboedov channel, five same -sex couples, three male and two women, tried to apply for a marriage registration, Rosbalt reports . One of the male pairs was represented by the organizer of the St. Petersburg LGBT parades Yuri Gavrikov with his friend Maxim.
This pair was allowed before the registration procedure. However, according to Gavrikov, significant obstacles arose in the procedure. The representative of the Palace administration said that she could not register a marriage, since the documents contain the columns "he" and "she", while there are two men in front of it.
LGBT activists said they would appeal this decision. They demanded from the administration of the Palace in writing. This document will be sent to them within a few days, after which the decision to refuse will be appealed in court.

Over 30 journalists were attended by the shares. The question was asked why Gay Paras decided to go to the official marriage registration procedure. Activists said that official registration is necessary to create a full -fledged family, which they have the right to count on. They also reported that they plan to get children, despite the State Duma decision that restricts them in this right.
“A historical event has just taken place in St. Petersburg! At once, five same-sex couples submitted applications for registration of marriage! Delight!”,- wrote the LGBT activist and organizer of the gay parades Nikolai Alekseev on Twitter.
The day before, it became known that the administration of St. Petersburg agreed on the holding of a LGBT parade. The fourth St. Petersburg parade will be held on the territory of Marse Paul. Information about the action of sex media planned on Saturday is sent to executive and law enforcement agencies.
Earlier, the authorities refused the activists of the LGBT organization "equal rights" in the coordination of the action. Options for the routes of the procession and the venue of the rally, which were coordinated by activists, were planned in the territory of the Vasileostrovsky, Central and Admiralty district. Activists confirmed using a laser rangefinder, which do not violate the ban on rallies closer than 50 meters from state authorities.
However, in Smolny they referred to the fact that all the proposed routes are under construction work, which creates a danger to the participants in the procession. The authorities proposed holding a gay parade in the village of Novoselki, Vyborg district, which is located on the border with the Leningrad region. Activists refused and submitted an information letter about the rally in the St. Petersburg Hyde Park on the Marse Field.
The Family Code does not have a definition of marriage as a specific legal fact. However, already in article 1 it says: "The regulation of family relations is carried out in accordance with the principles of voluntariness of the marriage union of a man and woman." Article 12, describing the conditions for marriage, reads: "For marriage, the mutual voluntary consent of the man and the woman who entered into marriage and the achievement of marriage age are necessary."
In 2009, LGBT activists Irina Fedotova (FET) and Irina Shipiko challenged the refusal of the Tver registry office of Moscow to register their marriage. The couple lost the case in the Tver District Court and a higher instance. After that, Fet and Shipitiko registered marriage in Canada and filed a complaint with the European Court of Human Rights.
