At the Central Moscow Hippodrome on Monday evening the races for the prize of the President of Russia took place

The races for the prize of the President of Russia took place at the Central Moscow Hippodrome on Monday evening. They have been held since 2004 and have previously been combined with informal CIS summits several times. However, in recent years, the status of the event has decreased: in 2010-2011, only the presidents of Armenia, Abkhazia and South Ossetia attended the races, and last year, Vladimir Putin, who returned to the presidency, missed them altogether due to flooding in Krymsk. Only this year the authorities decided to breathe new life into the races by combining them with a two-day summit of gas exporting countries. More than a hundred horses took part in nine races, including the horses of the head of Gazprom Alexey Miller and seven horses of the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov. The main prize - 10 million rubles - was taken by the stallion Choreographer from Khakassia. Kadyrov's horses took three prizes.
