1923. Vislava Shimborsk was born

90 years ago, on July 2, 1923, the Polish poet of Vislava Shimborsk was born, the 1996 Nobel laureate "For poetry, which describes historical and biological phenomena in the context of human reality."

Shimborsk is the author of more than 30 collections of poems, the first of which was published in 1952. She collaborated with the opposition communists magazine "Culture", made the requirements of freedom of speech. In the 80s, she collaborated with the Union of Solidarity and was published in the Samizdat magazine Arca.
