Ex-prosecutor of the Moscow Region Ignatenko freed himself from the pre-trial detention center

Former deputy prosecutor of the Moscow Region Alexander Ignatenko was released after the expiration of the detention of detention, RIA Novosti reports. In May, the TFR handed over the materials of the Ignatenko case to the Prosecutor General’s Office to approve the indictment. However, the supervisory authority on June 18 returned the case for an additional investigation. As the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office explained, the evidence presented by the investigation does not meet the requirements of the Code of Criminal Procedure and objectively do not confirm the presence in the actions of the accused of the crime incriminated to him, "but the conclusions formulated in the prosecution are not based on the correct assessment of the actual circumstances and the fullness of the investigation."

“The defense believes that in the course of an additional investigation, if it is objective, the innocence of my client will be established in the acts incriminated to him,” said Alexander Asnis Ignatenko then.

On February 8, the judge of the Moscow City Court Nikolai Tkachuk arrested Ignatenko until July 1. The arrest of the arrest was supported by the head of the Investigative Committee of Alexander Bastrykin. Meanwhile, not only the defense of the former prosecutor, but also the state prosecutor, opposed such a preventive measure. On March 5, the Moscow City Court rejected the defense appeal, confirming the decision on the arrest.

On February 25, the ex-prosecutor was charged with the new edition. Ignatenko charged the receipt of bribes, the article "Fraud" from the prosecution was excluded. Ignatenko did not admit his guilt.

In early April, the accused refused to testify. According to Asnis, he explained such a step "exclusively by the fact that the investigation in his regard is carried out extremely unreasonably and biased." Ignatenko intends to give all the necessary testimonies in court, the lawyer noted.

Ignatenko in 2011 became a defendant in the case of underground casinos and was put on the international wanted list. He was detained on January 1, 2013 at the Polish resort Zakopan. In February, the District Court of the city of Novova-Sonch allowed its extradition to Russia.

On February 7, the former prosecutor was extracted from Poland to Russia. The next day in Moscow, he was charged with receiving bribes worth more than 40 million rubles. According to Asnis, Ignatenko was then charged under an article on fraud. However, this case was terminated, as the Polish side demanded, making a decision on the issuance of a defendant to Russia.

On January 24, the Prosecutor General did not approve the indictment against former police officers Farit Temirgaliev and Mikhail Kulikov and returned the “gambling” to the investigation stage. Temirgalieva and Kulikov were accused of receiving a bribe of 75 thousand dollars from the organizers of the illegal gambling business. Earlier, according to the same circumstances, several former prosecutors near Moscow, accused of “roofing” of illegal gambling establishments for bribes, were returned to the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee of the Council of People's Commissars. In November, Grin filed an idea to the Supreme Court for the illegality of decisions on the arrest of the defendants of the case Oleg Sudakov, Kulikov and Temirgaliev. However, the court rejected the supervisory appeal. Earlier, the Armed Forces in a similar situation supported the Prosecutor General and recognized the arrest of three organizers of the underground gambling business.

The scandal with illegal gambling business broke out in February 2011. Then the FSB said that the department, together with the investigators, discovered in the suburbs a large network of illegal casinos, which brought revenues from 5 to 10 million dollars a month to its owners. In total, ten employees of law enforcement agencies were arrested as part of the case, including former prosecutors of several districts of the Moscow Region. However, to date, Ignatenko remained the last detention of the defendants.
