Romania will still pay compensation to those from whom real estate was selected until 1940

Since 2014, the Government of Romania intends to start the payment of compensation to citizens who have lost real estate as a result of the accession to the USSR on the eve of the Second World War of Bessarabia and Northern Bukovina, and South Dobruji to Bulgaria.

The descendants of those who were the owner in 1940 can count on payments. Payment will be carried out taking into account inflation over the next 10 years.

Ten years ago, the government was already trying to resolve this issue. Then it was planned to complete all payments by 2010, which, according to preliminary data, amounted to 165 million Romanian lei (about $ 55 million).
