Any political expert will tell me that it is completely incorrect to compare the arrest of the former Egyptian President Mursi and the leaders of the Muslim Brothers and the arrest of the Yaroslavl mayor Yevgeny Urlashov and his team. In one case, angry crowds accusing Mursi of usurpation of power, in the other - an ordinary story with a bribe. In one case, the head of state, in the other - the head of not the largest city. And what delayed them almost at the same time - is it possible to draw general conclusions on a private coincidence?

And yet it seems to me that it is possible. Mursi - and this demonstrated the latest events - did not become a real ruler in Egypt. The military remained real opportunities to influence the situation. It was they, and not the people who rejoiced on the streets, arrested the current president. It was they who refused to support his predecessor.

Mursi may like or not like it, someone may even consider him a usurper-but this was the first democratically elected head of state in Egyptian history. Which, I repeat, does not matter when there is something else that is a real authority. This real government can act in accordance with the wishes of the revolutionary people - the people are always right. And it can protect the legal president from an angry crowd, which is trying to replace a nationwide vote. The interpretation of events - whom to consider the people, whom the crowd is behind this very power.

Isn't it the same in Russia? We perfectly understand that the point is not at all that Urlashov is a bribe taker, but that he is not at all the mayor that Yaroslavl needs. And which mayor needs Yaroslavl, not the inhabitants of this city decide, but a resident of the Kremlin. Rather, that symbiosis of security forces and oligarchs, which has developed back in Yeltsin times and flourishes in Putin. Actually, weren't Russian democrats hot supporters of this symbiosis? Didn’t they consider it right that the second term of Yeltsin was provided with any path - united through the efforts of oligarchic money, to the intensity of the honest NTV, Chubais and the Presidents of the Volga Republics? And wouldn’t they rejoice if, if the president of Zyuganov was elected, some swan in uniform through a year? Even how rejoiced and would say that the minority cannot control the majority that we went to the square to stop the Renaissance of communism and thanks to our bold military?

Just Russians, unlike the Egyptians, decided not to worry. And they arranged for them the right democracy at once. So that there are always those who will help the people not to fall into the election trap if they were voted not for that. And as a result, there is no opportunity to choose even the mayor of Yaroslavl - in any case for a long time. As the interim president of Egypt said there - what will be held in the elections in which the true will of the people will be expressed? It is in Russia that these elections are.
