It turns out that many residents of the Sverdlovsk region dream of getting a job in the civil service. As the recruitment agency Headhunter.ru found out, on average seven applicants apply for one vacancy in this area. This is despite the fact that the average competition for one vacancy in the market is no more than three people.

“The average salary in Russia is about 26 thousand rubles, the average salary of officials is more than 60 thousand rubles. This is the average figure for all regions. As for the Urals, on average officials are offered a salary of 20–30 thousand rubles,” said the agency’s interlocutor. “At the same time, by the end of 2018, the Ministry of Finance plans to increase officials’ salaries by 2.6 times,” said HeadHunter press service head Anastasia Naydenova.

The majority of Ural officials (51%) claim a salary of 20–40 thousand rubles, another quarter will be satisfied with a salary of 15–20 thousand rubles, and every tenth is ready to serve the state for 10–15 thousand rubles. At the same time, those who officially claim an income of over 60 thousand rubles are only 7%.

“The civil service has now become a very attractive area to work in, even despite the fact that nominal wages in it are often not very high. Many people dream of getting into the civil service even with small salaries, hoping to compensate for this with the experience gained there, useful connections, job stability and additional bonuses available to civil servants,” says Naydenova.

Interestingly, at the moment, according to research, 61% of officials are representatives of the fair sex. Half of civil servants have a higher education diploma, 46% have an incomplete higher education, but only 1% have candidates of science among officials.
