In the United States and eight countries, 255 people suspected of spreading children's pornography on the Internet were arrested. This was reported on Monday by the US Immigration and Customs Police.
According to the director of this department John Miller, the attackers made acquaintances with minors in chat rooms and social networks, through blackmail and extortion they received their photos and distributed pictures on the Internet. The authorities identified more than 60 victims of the underground network in several countries.
The range of accusations against the arrested - from seduction of minors to the production of children's pornography and trips for sexual contact with children.
The arrests became possible as a result of the Iguardian operation, which in June the American immigration and customs police conducted together with law enforcement agencies of other countries. In addition to the United States, the arrests of the suspects were carried out in Brazil, Canada, Israel, Mexico, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea and Thailand.
