The answer converges

Of course, those who will compare rallies on Bolotnaya with a trip on Okhotny row may seem that the protest movement went on a decline, shallow, turned out to be helpless in front of the power rink. Indeed, there are much fewer people, no incendiary speeches, a complete misunderstanding of what to do next - what a protest!

But this is not a rally. This is the most spontaneous manifestation of discontent in vacation July Moscow, where it is not easy to gather in coffee, not like a protest. And the fact that after the sentence to Alexei Navalny, so many people came out on the streets of the Russian capital, says a lot - and should have become a serious warning for the authorities. But it will not.

One of my Ukrainian colleagues noted that if the Ukrainians, at the assignment of some sixth feeling, went to Khreshchatyk after the verdict Yulia Tymoshenko - much more politicized, by the way, than the sentence of Navalny, her compatriots would now live in a completely different country. I agree. The point, in the end, is not even in the personalities of Tymoshenko and Navalny. Ukrainians and Russians do not equally believe their own authorities, are convinced of the cornation of the judicial system and its readiness to fulfill any instructions of higher authorities. They perfectly understand that the cases of Tymoshenko and Navalny are determined by the political conjuncture, and not by real crimes, that such is the logic of the moment - the one who speaks the most about someone else's corruption should be a burned corruption.

The only difference is that in Ukrainian society there is serious disappointment in changes. It passed through these changes, the Maidan suffered, squabbles in the "orange power", the lack of reforms - and now does not want to protect anyone, now it goes to the streets only when they get so much that there is no urine - as it was recently after the rape of the woman in the small town of General.

And when was the last time there were changes in Russia? Not even a change, but hope for them? Whole generations of people grew up in stuffiness. If a few years ago it seemed that the aging, losing any connection with reality, the Brezhnoving Putin is political fantasy, now it is political prose.

That is why the instinct of desire for changes ripens in society - not yet decorated, not yet turned into a real competition of leaders and political views, but already alive. The whole essence of this instinct can be expressed in Govorukhinsky “You can’t live like that” - Govorukhin himself over the past decades became an adaptator, a retrograde and a well -deserved “front -line soldier”, but his appeal survived his creator and can now expand the opposition rallies with a banner.

Of course, the real recovery will begin when people in Russia will understand not only that you can’t live like that, and decide how they need to live. It was the lack of an answer to this question that destroyed both restructuring and the Russian reforms of the early 90s, making the country a mild prey of various crooks. And if the current movement will be based only on protest, on exposure, on faith in the next good king, then just the next one will happen - or extraordinary, depending on the scope of folk performances - a change of accidents that, in fact, the Russian neighbors actually experienced the "color revolutions".

These neighbors were convinced - how sooner or later the Russians themselves will be convinced - that no special path exists. What is either a road to an imperfect, but adhering to moral values, trying to ensure the equality of chances, tolerant Europe - or the life in its rotten swamp under the howls of clicked and cries of their own purity, which are from the very dirty mud, made by such bastards and it is disgusting. And when the belief becomes a program of action, then another life will begin. And another country.

But then citizens will go out into the streets not only demanding an honest counting of votes or the liberation of the opposition. They will protest against those who are trying to quarrel them with fellow citizens of a different nationality. They will not leave alone against the Bityugi from riot police and the good villagers behind their backs of LGBT activists. In a word, the Russians will no longer be divided into opposition activists and "concrete", which maintains power because it should be so more convenient.

They will simply become more human.
