Nadezhda Tolokonnikova was left in prison

On July 26, the Supreme Court of the Republic of Mordovia dismissed an appeal filed by Pussy Riot member Nadezhda Tolokonnikova against a denial of parole. Earlier, the Perm Regional Court refused to parole Maria Alyokhina.

Unlike her “accomplice” Maria Alyokhina, who participated in the hearing on a similar complaint on Wednesday via video link, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova was present at the trial in person. The prisoner stated that she did not see any expediency in her further detention, since the time spent in the colony did not contribute to her correction: Tolokonnikova insists that she did not commit a crime, therefore, there can be no question of any correction . The prosecutor's office opposed her release.

“I asked the authorities many times - how exactly should the state control my correction? - Tolokonnikova's last word was quoted by her husband Pyotr Verzilov, who was present at the meeting. - In response, I was offered to admit my guilt and write to the president about pardon! It was initially clear to everyone that my confession of guilt was completely impossible.”

Lawyer Irina Khrunova noted that during the parole trial in Zubova Polyana, representatives of the colony were in the same room with the judge, which became one of the grounds for appealing the court verdict. Khrunova also analyzed all the penalties imposed on Tolokonnikova, which were taken into account by the Zubovo-Polyansky court when making a decision, but the judge refused to examine the documents submitted by the lawyer.

As on Wednesday for Maria Alyokhina, the court took no more than 15 minutes to make a decision - the refusal to release Nadezhda Tolokonnikova was left unchanged.
