Story editor -in -chief Vladimir Chernov died of a heart attack at 74 years of life in Moscow, RIA Novosti reports with reference to his deputy Elena Kuzmenko. From 1998 to 2003, Chernov was headed by the magazine "Ogonyk".

“It happened suddenly, unexpectedly, it happened yesterday morning. The reason was a heart attack. No one expected it, it was an energetic, young man, regardless of age,” Kuzmenko said. “He gave the head start to all the young who surrounded him.” She noted that before that he had no serious health problems.

According to her, Chernov will be buried on Wednesday at the Vagankovsky cemetery.

“It was a very rare and very strong person, insanely talented,” said Boris Minaev, the editor -in -chief of the magazine Bear. “For me, Chernovsky“ Spark ”is the brightest and most exciting page of my life ... His last project, Story magazine was absolutely beautiful.”

Chernov was born on August 12, 1939. He graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University, worked in Komsomolskaya Pravda, the Literary Newspaper, and headed the magazines Seven Days, the Caravan of Stories. Since 2007 - the editor -in -chief of the Story magazine.
