The winners of the World Games were awarded incorrect medals

The organizers of the World Games in the Neolimpian sports held in the Colombian city of Kali will have to replace all the sets of awards made for the winners of the tournament. Due to the inattention of manufacturers, athletes instead of world champions became champions in the game of words.

In the inscription on medals intended for winners and winners of the competition, an annoying spelling error crept. Instead of “World Games” (English - World Games), “Word Games” was engraved on the award (English - verbal games). Moreover, no one paid attention to this for several days, and the mistake was noticed only thanks to the attentiveness of one of the athletes.

The organizers were already curious about their readiness to replace all the medals with spelling correct, ITAR-TASS reports.

We will resolve the current situation, but so far I can not make promises as to when this is specifically happening, ”explained Rodrigo Otoya, director of the World Games. “We will fix the mistake: we recognize our mistake and accept it.”

In total, the organizers will have to exchange 1221 medal, of which 204 have already been awarded to athletes. At the same time, on some memorable souvenirs donated to athletes, the name of the games was also written with a mistake.

According to the results of four competitive days, the Russian team takes fourth place in the team standings at the World Games in Neolimpian sports. There are 27 awards on the account of Russians, 7 of which are of the highest sample. Italy, France and Germany are leading at the games.
