The provision of refuge for the fugitive ex -employee of the CIA of the United States Edward Snowden will show that Russia is on guard of the ideals of freedom - this opinion was expressed by the head of the Moscow Patriarchate Department on the relationship between the Church and Society (Vede), Archpriest Vsevolod Chaplin.

"It is pleased that Russia in this case, as in many others, is shown, despite serious pressure," he said in an interview with Interfax -religion to the portal. The situation with Snowden Sign, which is very widely discussed in the Russian Federation and in the world, "and how Russia behaves in this situation, depends on its image as a country that supports real ideals of freedom," the clergyman believes.

This is the first public reaction from the official representative of the Russian Orthodox Church to the situation with Snowden, waiting in the transit zone of Sheremetyevo Airport, the decision of the Federal Migration Service of the Russian Federation regarding the provision of asylum in Russia, RBC-TV notes.

Snowden reminded the world about what many Orthodox Christians have been talking about for many years: “The prospect of the appearance of a global electron-system regime becomes a reality,” the chairman of the sheep announced.
