Approved the new director of the FBI

On Monday, the US Senate approved James Komi as director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

For Komi, 93 senators voted, against - one. As the director of the FBI, Komi will replace Robert Muller, who headed the bureau for 12 years. The director of the FBI is assigned for a ten -year term, but Müller’s stay at this post was extended at the suggestion of President Obama, reports from Washington the RS Vladimir Dubinsky.

From 2003 to 2005, during the presidency of George Bush Komi, he served as Deputy Minister of Justice of the United States. He later worked in the private sector.

Against his candidate, Rand Paul Senator, who threatened to delay the vote, objected to the Federal Bureau of Investigations to provide more detailed explanations regarding the system of use of drones for observation in the United States.
