Creative competition “Simply about the complex”
We continue to accept applications for participation in the “Simply About Complex” competition. Students and graduate students of Russian universities, as well as correspondents writing about science, can send their works to the competition page http://lifttothefuture.ru/projects/view/section/project513/3273 until October 10, 2013. “Simply about Complex Things” is a creative competition for students, graduate students, young scientists to popularize their own scientific ideas and the ideas of the scientific groups in which they work, as well as for aspiring science journalists - popularizers of modern scientific knowledge. The goal of the competition is to help undergraduates, graduate students and science media correspondents talk about scientific achievements and research in an engaging manner. The main requirement for participants' articles is that the popular science publication submitted to the competition must be based on a scientific article published in a highly rated scientific journal. Organizers of the competition: the “Lift to the Future” program and Moscow State University. M.V. Lomonosov, the competition is held as part of the All-Russian Science Festival.
Competition entries must correspond to one of eight areas: “Chemistry and materials science”, “Nanotechnology and nanomaterials”, “Physics and astronomy”, “Biology, biotechnology and medicine”, “Ecology, environmental management and Earth sciences”, “Applied mathematics, information and communication systems and technologies”, “Technical Sciences” and “Humanities”. The participants’ works in each area will be evaluated in two categories: “Best popular science article by a young scientist” and “Best popular science article by a scientific journalist.”
Summing up will take place from October 11 to November 20, 2013 . The winners will be awarded on November 25-29, 2013. Help for the newspaper “TROITSKY OPTION – SCIENCE”
The “Trinity Option” is open on the Internet, it is accessible to anyone who knows Russian. Our newspaper is read all over the world. We refuse paid electronic subscriptions not because we have a lot of money, but for reasons of principle. There is a systematic shortage of money, and we are in dire need of private and corporate donations to support the publication.
The names of benefactors, with their consent, will be published on the newspaper’s website and Scientific.ru. The donor receives a certificate from the editor-in-chief about the amount and purpose of the transferred funds.
The main method is to make a bank transfer to the name of our autonomous non-profit organization ANO “Troitsky Option” using the details specified in the “Subscription” section on the same page. This can be done from any card issued by a Russian bank. For those who use Internet banking, you don’t even have to leave your computer to do this.
Donation channels operate successfully through Yandex Money (account numbers: 41001438067950 and 410011649625941), as well as through ruble and currency “wallets” in the WebMoney system.
