On Tuesday evening, the Ostankino television center took place, RIA Novosti reports. The ignition area exceeded 200 square meters, 1,200 people were evacuated from the building. There are no victims.

According to the Ministry of Emergencies, the fire was recorded at 21:55, and an hour later, at 22:58, the flame was extinguished. The fire was awarded the fourth category of complexity on a five -point scale. In its liquidation, 36 rescue calculations participated - only 127 people.

The press secretary of Ostankin, Denis Nazarov said that there was no interruption in broadcasting due to the incident-all television channels worked as usual.

As the agency was told in the Moscow Central Internal Affairs Directorate, the fire, according to preliminary data, occurred in the picturesque and reconstruction workshop. There they burned the scenery and furniture. On Wednesday morning, a section of electrical wiring was removed from the workshop with signs of emergency work.

Earlier, the Ministry of Emergencies mentioned the wiring malfunction as one of the probable causes of the incident. Another possible cause in the department was called a violation of the technological process during the coloring of the scenery.
