Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika, in a letter to Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, accused the airline of overstating ticket prices. This was reported by Vedomosti, at the disposal of which there is a letter sent on July 18. The press secretary of Medvedev Natalya Timakova confirmed the receipt of the letter and said that Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich was preparing on him.
Referring to the results of the inspection conducted by the supervisor with the participation of the Federal Antimonopoly Service, the seagull states that the air carriers overstate the prices of the economy class one and a half times, and the business class is two. This is achieved, including by "imposing additional services", the prosecutor general notes. According to Seagulls, tickets at the prices of Aeroflot, Siberia, Tatarstan and Ak Bars Aero for flights from Moscow to Kazan, Novosibirsk and Khabarovsk are sold at this way.
The ability to manipulate prices, according to the prosecutor general, is provided by the air carriers by an outdated regulatory framework adopted in 1992-1993. Then only one airline worked in the country - Aeroflot - and the standards issued in those years do not provide for market regulation mechanisms.
At the end of July, the head of the FAS Igor Artemyev called the Tariff Policy of Russian Railways "reaching to farewell. This company becomes a railway Gazprom, Artemyev said. According to the official, Russian Railways "remains typical of the Soviet monopoly, in its absolutely Soviet manifestations."
“The tariffs that exist are made that a big monopoly could simply survive,” said Artemyev, “the monopoly was not only exacerbated, but it seems to me that all these programs that exist (in Russian Railways ), they are empty.”
Russian tariffs for railway transport in recent years have become one of the highest in the world. And since logistics expenses are laid in the price of all goods, Russian Railways essentially lives at the expense of the consumer, the head of the FAS concluded.
Artemyev added that due to the tariff policy of the monopoly, it is more profitable to transport goods over long distances. That is how, he gave an example, vegetable merchants are entering the goods from the Kuban to Novosibirsk. Meanwhile, the growth of auto transportation harms the ecology and overloads the roads, the official noted.
