Russian racer Vitaly Petrov may return to Formula 1 already next season. According to the pilot from Vyborg, he has proposals from several Royal Racing teams, but to conclude a transaction, it is necessary to get sponsorship support.
"Work on this issue continues to be conducted. There are proposals from several formula -1 groups, they are all in strength. But I am waiting for sponsorship support, which I can be part of the team. Without it, unfortunately, I will sit still," Petrov said in an interview with Firstnews.ru .
Petrov is the only Russian who has ever performed as part of the Formula-1 championship as the main pilot. In "Big Prizes" he represented the Renault and Caterham commands. Last season, he took 19th place in the individual standings without scoreing a single point. The highest achievement of the rider in Lotus-Renault is the third place in the 2011 Australian Grand Prix.
