LGBT activist surrounded by paratroopers For less than a minute, a picket lasted in defense of the LGBT community on Palace Square in St. Petersburg. Its organizer Kirill Kalugin decided to hold his action on August 2, responding to a well-known homophobic joke that gay parade can be allowed only on the day of the Airborne Forces. As soon as the young man unfolded a rainbow flag at the fence of the Alexandrian pillar with the inscription "This is the propaganda of tolerance", he was surrounded by aggressive paratroopers. However, Kirill Kalugin himself is sure that there were many mummaged nationalists among them. Kalugin was pushed, he fell to the ground, the police beat him from the attackers, and as a result, a brawl began between riot police and paratroopers.
Here's what Kirill Kalugin said on the air of the RS
- How did you decide on such a reckless action? Did you understand that you risk life?
-I do not think that my life threatened my life so seriously. I wanted to show that the LGBT Airborne Forces and the Airborne Forces Day are not so incompatible, and to dispel the speculation that still exist.
- Do you think that you managed to prove it? It seems that you have proved the opposite.
- The experiment cannot be called clean, because I believe that these were not representatives of the Airborne Forces at all.I recognized many nationalists who rushed at us with stones at the pride last month ago. At that time they were Cossacks.
- Do you think that they specially put on the form of paratroopers, knowing about your action?
- Yes.I noticed these people in advance and warned journalists. After that, some girl grabbed a flag from me, and at the same moment people surrounded me in vests. They said that they came to talk and would not allow any provocations on my part.I was pushed several times, grabbed by the neck, by the face. I was not badly injured. Polition detained me, delivered me to the department, took an explanation from me and released me.This time the police worked very well, unlike the last time when they allowed us to throw stones.
- Are you really going to sue these people who attacked you?
- One of the detainees attacked me in the site, I am at him. I will probably serve it.
- On the Internet, on your VKontakte wall, they threaten you, promise to deal. Are you not afraid that they will take revenge on you?
-In general, not. They wrote to me in the same way after a gay pride. It just has become more now. This is the usual phenomenon of VKontakte.
- Are you ready to go to Palace Square on the next year next year again?
- Most likely, yes.
Paratroopers on Palace Square, August 2, 2013
On June 28, Kirill Kalugin and his friend tried to register a single -sex marriage. In the symbolic submission of statements that the St. Petersburg Palace of Marriage refused to accept, three more pairs participated, including Dmitry Chunosov and Yaroslav Yevtushenko, residents of the city of Gryazi Lipetsk region. They appealed in the Gryazinsky City Court a refusal to register their union. According to the portal "City 48" , after the hourly meeting, the court decided that the refusal of the employees of the St. Petersburg Palace of Marriage to accept the application of the gay part for registration of marriage was illegal. In the rest of the lawsuit, namely, in the requirement to paint them, the court refused the plaintiffs.
The case was considered on the day of the Airborne Forces. The paratroopers approached the court and tried to beat gay activists when they got into a taxi. Dmitry Chunosov was hit in the face, and he tore chevron with the symbols of the Airborne Forces from the sleeve of the paratrooper.
Another action on the day of the Airborne Forces was held in Crimea. In the center of Simferopol on August 2, LGBT activists held a picket with posters "Crimea for everyone!", "Homophobia is fascism", "Tchaikovsky was a homosexual."
