The plant in the Leningrad region will expand its product line and begin supplies to Kazakhstan

The Elektromonoblok plant of the international concern Schneider Electric, located in the Leningrad region, plans to begin exporting its products. In the fall, the company expects to make the first regular deliveries of equipment to Kazakhstan. It is planned to export new products - expanded RM6 cells, which Schneider Electric is localizing in Russia. Due to the new direction, the Russian enterprise expects to increase revenue by 15% - up to 718 million rubles.

The Russian enterprise Schneider Electric, the Elektromonoblok plant in the Leningrad region, will expand its product portfolio by the fall. The company will begin producing RM6 extended switchgear cells. This equipment is a compact device designed for installation in central substations to increase the reliability of power supply to consumers. Today, expanded cells are produced only in France and China. As the general director of the enterprise, Vasily Udodenko, told Kommersant, in September the company must undergo an audit by French specialists from Schneider Electric and receive permission to produce new products.

“It was decided to localize the production of such products in Russia. This is beneficial for our company in terms of increasing production volumes, and for clients in terms of reducing delivery times,” says Mr. Udodenko. He notes that the production of new products will increase revenue by 10-15%. At the end of 2012, it amounted to 625 million rubles. The plant currently produces non-expandable three- and four-function RM6s.

The release of new products will require upgrading the production line, solving some logistics issues, and purchasing new components, notes Mr. Udodenko.

Schneider Electric is a developer and supplier of comprehensive energy-efficient solutions for the energy and infrastructure of industrial enterprises, civil and residential construction sites, as well as data centers. Schneider Electric's global turnover last year amounted to €24 billion. Schneider Electric Plant "Electromonoblock" LLC is a plant in the Leningrad region, in the Kommunar industrial zone. The company was launched in 2011, investments in the project amounted to €10.5 million.

After the launch of the new product line, the company will begin regular deliveries to Kazakhstan, Mr. Udodenko expects. About 10-15% of output will be exported, he noted.

Investcafe analyst Igor Arnautov notes that official distributors of Schneider Electric are already operating in Kazakhstan. In addition, there are a large number of enterprises here that want to improve their energy efficiency, since electricity costs constitute a significant part of the cost. The company's competitor may be the Kemont company, which produces switchgear, believes Mr. Arnautov.

Leading expert of Finam Management Management Company Dmitry Baranov believes that the localization of these devices is necessary for the market. “This will give the manufacturer a reduction in the cost of products, therefore, they will become more competitive, which will mean a large number of orders for them. In addition, mastering the production of new products is a further step in the development of the company, increasing its technological level. For consumers, localization will, in addition to reducing prices, shorter delivery times, the ability to purchase the required quantity of products,” says Mr. Baranov.
