2012. Peter Fomenko died

A year ago, on August 9, 2012, the outstanding theater director Petr Fomenko died. In Soviet times, he had big problems with censorship. Set in 1966 in the theater. Mayakovsky play “Death of Tarelkin” was banned after 50 impressions.

Director Sergei Zhenovach characterized Fomenko as follows: “Peter Naumovich is a kind of element, a certain phenomenon of nature, a kind of natural anomaly. In Pyotr Naumovich, there is a very strongly lying, unpredictable beginning. He thinks surprisingly paradoxically, brilliantly owns intonation, only to him one led, one inherent in him. He is paradoxical by itself. It is no coincidence that he has his favorite words - “but” and “although”. And at once the whole point turns over. He is a great lyceum and a provocateur. Fomenko loves to blow up the situation, it is unpredictable to unfold it, and in this he is always alive, mobile, interesting. ”

Official recognition came to Fomenko during the years of perestroika. He was awarded many awards and awards, up to the Order of Merit to the Fatherland of the II degree.
