The Rolls-Royce brand began to prepare a new generation of Phantom limousine, which has been sold for a dozen years. According to Automotive News , the novelty will be presented in 2016, it will be based on the next generation BMW 7-Series platform and will receive an option of all-wheel drive.
If the data on the platform is confirmed, this will mean that the car will become more than two centners easier due to the widespread use of carbon and aluminum elements.
It is not known yet what engine will be under the hood of the new Phantom. But due to weight loss, the car will be more dynamic even with the current unit - a 6.75 -liter V12 engine. The publication also reports that Phantom will be equipped with an option of all -wheel drive.
Two years after the sedan, the premiere of two more versions is expected - Phantom coupe and convertible.
