
The authorities of Serbia arrested enterprises belonging to the businessman Boris Berezovsky, who had died in March. This was reported by RIA "Novosti" with reference to the deputy general of the prosecutor of Russia Alexander Zvyagintsev.
"At the request of the General Prosecutor's Office in Serbia, seven enterprises belonging to Boris Berezovsky worth more than 9 billion rubles were seized," Zvyagintsev said.
On July 26, the head of the FSSP Arthur Parfenchikov said that the bailiffs arrested Berezovsky’s property in the amount of about 300 million rubles.
"In production, we have five out of eight executive sheets, in total, the amount of Berezovsky’s debt is 3.2 billion rubles, except for him, four more joint debtor passes," said Parfenchikov.
On July 30, the official representative of the Investigative Committee Vladimir Markin said that the TFR did not terminate the investigation of the criminal case against Berezovsky. He noted that in accordance with the article “Inadmissibility of the disclosure of the preliminary investigation data”, the dissemination of other information on this issue is inappropriate due to the need to ensure the secrets of the preliminary investigation.
In mid -July, Financial Times, citing a statement by the high court London, wrote that Berezovsky may have been insolvent. Shortly before his death, Berezovsky again became a defendant in the trial. He had claims from the Aeroflot airline and the ex -wife of Elena Gorbunova. She demanded 5 million pounds from Berezovsky. According to her, this money was helped out of the sale of real estate, but in the end she received nothing. The amount of the claims of Aeroflot is not given by the publication.
The disgraced oligarch died on March 23 at the age of 67. The body of Berezovsky was discovered in the house in the area of the village of Ascot in the county of Berkshire. The first results of the autopsy showed that Berezovsky could die from hanging . The investigation is currently ongoing.
Since 2000, Berezovsky was hiding from Russian justice in the UK. In 2003, the British court refused to give him at the request of the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office, he received refugee status in the UK. In Russia, Berezovsky was found guilty of a number of accusations of fraud, embezzlement and laundering of cash of companies AvtoVAZ, Logovaz and Aeroflot. Two correspondence sentences of Russian courts for 13 and 6 years of prison, respectively, entered into force.
