The protection of Pussy Riot participants Maria Alekhina and Nadezhda Tolokonnikova asks to replace the deadline for his conclusion with correctional work. According to Kommersant, lawyer Irina Khrunova will soon file the appropriate petitions to the courts at the place of serving the sentence of his clients - in Nizhny Novgorod and Mordovia, respectively.

Khrunova asks the court to take into account that Alekhina and Tolokonnikov were convicted of non -violent crime and both have children. “It is obvious that the mother’s condemnation to imprisonment and, as a result, the lack of communication between the child and mother throughout the whole time of conviction cannot but affect the development of the child’s personality and his psyche,” the lawyer emphasizes.

The term of conclusion of Alekhina and Tolokonnikova expires in March 2014. Both received two years for punk-grab in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior. The courts denied them on parole and delay in the sentence of a sentence until the children reached the 14th anniversary.

When sentencing in the form of correctional labor, the convict expenses part of the earnings to the state. According to experts, cases of replacement of imprisonment in judicial practice are rare.
