On August 24, a rally of young scientists against the RAS reform will be held in Moscow

A rally of young scientists, employees of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences and the Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, workers in the field of higher and secondary education against the adoption of a bill on the reorganization of the Academy of Sciences will be held on Saturday, at noon, on Suvorovskaya Square (Metro Dostoevskaya). The meeting was coordinated with the Moscow authorities.

"We believe that the adoption of bill No. 305828-6 "On the Russian Academy of Sciences, the reorganization of state academies of sciences and the introduction of amendments to certain legislative acts of the Russian Federation" will lead to the destruction of domestic academic science, the destruction of its personnel potential, scientific schools that have been formed over decades and will be the last a step in the process of destroying the scientific and educational systems in our country, say the organizers of the action.

The demands of scientists to the President, the Federation Council and the State Duma are to reject the bill "On the Russian Academy of Sciences ..." for substantive as well as formal reasons. And to prevent the entry into force of a law that deprives Russia of competitiveness on the world stage, the possibility of innovative development, threatening the sovereignty and integrity of the state.

The organizers call on the general public to support these demands, because "we, scientists, are not defending narrow corporate interests, but the future of our country. Only together can we achieve a change in state policy in the field of science and education!" As a result of the rally, a resolution will be adopted.
