In Ufa, a rally was held against the construction of the Kronoshpan plant

In Ufa in the square in front of the Sports Palace, a rally was held against the construction of the woodworking plant of Kronoshpan, Interfax reports . According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Bashkiria, 1,100 people took part in the action. There were no detentions.

Before the start of the rally, its participants held a car racing. As the civil activist Pavel Ksenofontov said, about 280 cars took part in it.

The Kronoshpan plant is supposed to be built in the Ufa district, near the capital of Bashkiria. The factory should be produced by wood and laminated slabs.

In mid -July, residents of the villages of Knyazevo, Kirillovo, Dorogino and Novodorogino of the Ufa district, as well as the Shaksha microdistrict in the capital of the region, demanded to transfer the construction of the plant away from settlements. They are afraid that production will damage the ecology of the area, and, accordingly, their health.

On August 3, civilian activists set up a tent camp near the construction site. According to the Politvestnik channel, about 2500 people gathered at the opening of the camp.

Last week, the bailiffs demanded that the protesters remove the tents. They referred to the interim measures appointed by the court to the claim of the owner of the land.

Meanwhile, the Public Chamber of Bashkiria said that the Republican Gossstroynadzor demanded to suspend the construction of the plant. Social activists also announced the need to urgently conduct an independent environmental examination of the project, entrusting it with international recognized organizations. At the same time, the chamber called on activists to turn public protests.
