On August 1, Judge Artur Karpov of the Basmanny District Court extended Udaltsov's arrest until October 6. The defense asked to change the measure of restraint to a written undertaking not to leave.

Udaltsov has been under house arrest since February 9. The investigation did not allow him to leave the apartment in order to personally submit documents to the Mosizbirkom to participate in the election of the mayor of Moscow.

On July 1, Sergei Udaltsov and Leonid Razvozzhaev, as well as their lawyers, began to familiarize themselves with the materials of the criminal case, which was separated into a separate proceeding. The volume of the case is 79 volumes. It also includes numerous physical evidence, audio and video recordings.

Udaltsov is accused of preparing to organize mass riots (part 1 of article 30 and part 1 of article 212 of the Criminal Code) and organizing mass riots on May 6 on Bolotnaya Square in Moscow (part 1 of article 212). Razvozzhaev, in addition to the same charges, is also charged with illegal crossing of the state border (Part 1 of Article 322). The final indictment was brought against them on June 19.

After completion of the familiarization procedure, the criminal case will be sent for approval of the indictment and subsequent transfer to the court for consideration on the merits. According to Udaltsov's supporters, it may take two to three months to study the case materials. Thus, the start of the process should be expected around October.
