The Soviet nature is rapidly returning. Already, Alexander Mindadze, under the pressure of experts appointed by the Ministry of Culture , agreed to transfer the action of his film from 1940 in the 30s. So in the not so distant past, "instance" approved the script, demanding the changes they needed.
I recall the story of the film "About the poor hussar, put on the word." There, according to the original version of the script, the character of Oleg Basilashvili was a gendarme major. But censorship and the KGB categorically objected against this - they say, it is not good to wear the main negative hero in the uniform of the then “organs”. And then Eldar Ryazanov and Grigory Gorin decided to mock the censors and made their Merzlyaev a real secret adviser. And after all, it passed, although this immediately made the plot absurdly phantasmagoric. After all, a real secret adviser is an official of the highest rank who could be a minister, senator, and governor general. Of course, such a dignitary could not travel in a brown with one footman and would not talk on equal terms with an army colonel and personally deal with the army cornet.
Mindadze, it seems, does not intend to mock censors. But the claw is bogged down - the whole bird is abyss. Where is the guarantee that in the future the Ministry of Culture will not require a stop of financing to agree with its experts the selection of actors? And then the experts, having come to taste, will look at the captured pieces of the picture and indicate what needs to be cut and what to cross ...
The script of the film Mindadze "advised" by the scientific director of the Russian Military Historical Society, Doctor of Historical Sciences Mikhail Myagkov. He claims that "on the eve of the war, there was no such active cooperation of Germany and the Soviet Union, as shown in the picture." “I am against such a distortion of historical reality,” says Mr. Myagkov. - Mindadze agreed with me that historical realities would be observed if the action was transferred to the 30s, when the cooperation of the two countries was really very active. "
The very idea of this kind of examination is extremely doubtful. If she had practiced in the West, who would give Tarantino to remove the “inglorious bastards”? But in the case of the film, the requirements of the expert - and in fact the censor - just lead to obvious falsification of history, dictated by the authorities’s reluctance to once again attract attention to the Soviet -Friendship of 1939-1941. I must say that Mr. Myagkov is not a specialist in Soviet-German trade and economic relations of this period. But here we are not even about incompetence, but about a direct forgery.
In fact, after Hitler came to power at the beginning of 1933, trade and economic relations between the USSR and Germany were actually frozen. And no German engineers came to the Soviet Union for a long time. Only antiphashists were working in our country, but by 1939, in the majority, they either perished in the Gulag or left for other countries.
Bilateral cooperation resumed only after the signing on August 19, 1939 a trade agreement, according to which the Soviet Union, having received a loan of 200 million Reichsmarks, bought machine tools and equipment from Germany, mainly for military industry, as well as weapons, supplying oil, industrial raw materials and agricultural products. Economic contracts of February 11, 1940 and January 10, 1941 were concluded in the development of this agreement. Real supplies of equipment began in the first months of 1940. In particular, the unfinished German heavy cruiser Luttsov was bought. The completion was held in Leningrad since May 1940 under the leadership of German engineers, the last group of which left the Soviet Union literally on the eve of June 22, 1941.
Complex machines and equipment were also bought from Germany, including for the oil refinery, nickel, lead, copper -smelter, chemical, cement, and steel -free plants. 6430 were delivered from Germany alone from Germany, despite the fact that in 1939 the USSR imported only 3458 machines of all types in total. Hundreds of German engineers arrived in the USSR in 1940-1941 to mount the equipment on the spot and helping Soviet colleagues in the USSR. In particular, the concern "Karl Zeiss" put in the USSR rangefinders and periscopes for submarines. The hero of the film Mindadze is just an employee of this concern. According to the director, the script is based on a real story, which, obviously, began in the 40th year, but could not begin in the mid-30s.
Thus, in 1940, engineers from Germany were an ordinary element of the Soviet industrial landscape, while in the previous few years they could only be rare exotic visitors. To draw a different picture means to deliberately falsify history than they are just engaged in inspiration, under the flag of the fight against falsifiers, the Ministry of Culture and its experts. It is a pity that a well -known cinematographer, who remembers the Soviet past, is forced to recall with this falsification.
