Femen announced leaving Ukraine

Femen moves from Ukraine. This was reported by an independent news bureau with reference to activist Alexander Shevchenko. "Recently, five attacks have been committed on the activists of the organization. We understood such a hint and decided to curtail activities in Ukraine. We want to save our activists and protect them from attacks. We are afraid to be killed!" - said Shevchenko.

The activist added that abroad, outside the reach of the Ukrainian authorities, the members of the movement will feel safer.

In the afternoon, on Tuesday, the police conducted a search at the Femen headquarters in Kyiv. The reason, according to law enforcement officers, was a message about the weapons and explosives allegedly stored at the headquarters of weapons and explosives.

Shevchenko noticed that the search was held when activists came to the headquarters for the first and a half weeks to collect things. Police and explosives expelled the members of the group from the premises and examined without witnesses.

"Femen states that the movement does not hold any weapons, no explosives, nor drugs. If drug or toxic substances, prohibited objects or weapons will be found in the premises of Femen headquarters - this is a provocation of the Ukrainian authorities," the movement commented on this news.

Later, activists were invited to the premises and held a second search in their presence. Then the police pistol and a grenade, as well as portraits of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Patriarch of Moscow Cyril with the targets painted on their faces, were discovered. “We are convinced that all these things were put in during the first inspection,” Shevchenko said.

The detention and opening of a criminal case was not reported following the results of the search.

Shevchenko called the search "an excellent joint action of the authorities and Femen." “Today we do not need to undress in order to draw the public attention to what is happening. Today's search in our office shows that the authorities and then plan to fight dissent by force. And if society does not resist this, Ukraine will turn into Russia or Belarus,” the activist said.

On July 28, the court in Kyiv appointed Shevchenko’s fines, as well as two other Femen activists - Oksana Shachko and Yana Zhdanova - and the Russian photo correspondent Dmitry Kostyukov. The police claimed that the patrol service noticed on Obolonsky Avenue near the Grintown shopping center three naked girls and the young man who photographed them. They did not respond to the remark of law enforcement officers. As a result, all four were delivered to the Obolonsky police department.

In the movement itself, it was stated that Shevchenko, Shachko, Zhdanov and Kostyukov were beaten and taken away in an unknown direction. The capture was made by a group of people in civilian clothes. Activists and journalist were captured with the use of force when they went to the protest against the celebration of the 1025th anniversary of the baptism of Kievan Rus, who held on July 27 in the capital of Ukraine.

The Femen press release stated that "in connection with the arrival of the main enemies of democracy and freedom - dictator Putin and Pla Cyril Gundyaev - the Russian special services, with the assistance of the special services of Ukraine, arranged a real terror against activists Femen and their supporters."

On July 25, the ideologist of the movement Viktor Svyatsky was brutally beaten. He was hospitalized with a concussion and fractures of the facial bones. On the morning of July 27, Anna Gutsol was attacked on the leader of the movement. The unknown attacked her at the entrance of her house.
