Kuban authorities: Pay migrant workers in Sochi only when expelled

The Kuban authorities ordered not to pay foreigners working at the Olympic construction sites in Sochi, the calculation until they receive tickets home. "Each of the 44 Sochi contractors is recommended to provide migrants with a return ticket home before paying a salary," ITAR-TASS reports the statement of the vice-governor of the region, Jamulat Khatuov, made at a meeting of the regional security council.

Governor Alexander Tkachev supported this initiative. "Immediately after the completion of the Great Olympic construction in Sochi, migrants should leave the region," he said.

For this, the regional authorities will prepare a special package of measures. One of these measures will be the preparation of additional agreements by employing companies providing for the expulsion of foreigners outside the region within 10 days after the end of work.
