Vitaly Pankratov failed to appeal the verdict

Vitaly Pankratov, who beat a store visitor to death in Samara, failed to appeal the decision of the Industrial District Court. This was reported by the press service of the Samara Region Prosecutor's Office. Let us recall that the district court found Mr. Pankratov guilty of beatings and intentionally inflicting grievous bodily harm resulting in the death of the victim. He was sentenced to 10 years in a maximum security colony. Vitaly Pankratov appealed this decision to the Samara Regional Court. However, the servants of Themis left the verdict unchanged. The murder in a shopping pavilion at the intersection of Alexander Matrosov and Stavropolskaya streets occurred in July 2012. Alexander Filippov made a remark to a visitor who decided to leave without paying for the goods. In response to the remark, Vitaly Pankratov began beating the man. The victim died from his injuries. Based on this fact, a criminal case was opened under the article “Intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm resulting in the death of the victim.” However, later the charge against Mr. Pankratov was reclassified as “Causing death by negligence,” which caused a wide public outcry.
