The Chinese market is the fastest growing, it needs regional aircraft. So far, the Chinese aircraft industry has not been able to establish the production of regional Advanced Regional Jet (Arj21) of its own development. Russian SSJ could occupy an empty market niche.
But this means that some components for the Russian Superjet-100 can begin to be assembled in China, the top manager of the Sukhoi Civil aircraft told Vedomosti .
But, according to him, quotas for the import of foreign equipment into China are very small - 3-5 aircraft per year for each airline: the PRC protects its aircraft industry. Therefore, different options are discussed, including the production of some units for Superjet in China. In China, parts for Airbus are made, so that the country has sufficient competencies.
The issue of partial transfer of the production of SSJ to China was discussed in negotiations on the sale of Russian-Italian aircraft in the PRC, is confirmed by the responsible secretary of the Russian-Chinese Center for Trade and Economic Cooperation Sergey Sanakoev, but this is only possible if China the large batch of SSJ-from hundreds or more.
Now in the portfolio of orders of the GSS - 171 aircraft, SSJ is buying third world countries, usually in small batches through the Russian Vnesheconombank. Buying a large batch of Superjet -100 by a country claiming the status of superpower, and, moreover, the localization of part of the production of these aircraft in the PRC is a serious application for success, says Roman Gusarov, the editor -in -chief of Avia.ru: this is a giant market.
But there are risks, he continues: the PRC has his own project of the regional aircraft - ARJ21, the declared characteristics of which repeat the Superjet -100. "It would not happen that, having shared technologies with China, we will actually convey to him our experience, we will help to pass child diseases and grow a competitor to Superjet -100. The question may be especially acute if we convey to China the competencies of components," Gusarov says.
