Sberbank Leasing and Sukhoi Civil Aircraft are creating a joint venture

Sberbank Leasing and the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), represented by Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (SCAC), have agreed to create a joint venture to promote Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft on the Russian and international markets. The corresponding memorandum was signed by the companies at the MAKS-2013 air show.

“The joint venture will combine the competencies of the State Air Force in the creation of modern aircraft and their subsequent technical support with the existing competencies and capabilities of the Sberbank Leasing group in the operational leasing market using the best global practices,” the companies said in a joint statement.

The joint venture plans to lease up to 50 Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft worth $2 billion to both Russian and foreign customers.

“The Sukhoi Superjet 100 is currently the most modern Russian aircraft. It seems to us that this aircraft also has prospects in the field of leasing,” Dmitry Eroshok, General Director of Sberbank Leasing CJSC, comments on the signing of the agreement.

“Cooperation with Sberbank Leasing CJSC opens up long-term prospects for the project, because the wide branch network of our partners will open up new opportunities for joint promotion of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft not only on the Russian, but also on the international market,” said GSS President Andrei Kalinovsky.
