On Monday, the final matches of the next rounds of some national championships took place. In England, Manchester United and Chelsea drew 0:0 at Old Trafford. In Spain, Real defeated Granada away - 1:0. And in Russia, after the sixth round, there was a change of leader. Rostov suffered a crushing defeat 0:5 away from Lokomotiv and lost first place to CSKA.

English Championship

On Monday, the most anticipated match of the second round of the English championship took place - Manchester United hosted Chelsea. An additional intrigue of the meeting was that for the new head coach of the Manchester team, David Moyes, this game was the first official one at the team’s home arena - Old Trafford. In turn, Jose Mourinho, who returned to the post of head coach of Chelsea in the summer, again faced his once most important opponent.

Overall, the match between Manchester United and Chelsea did not live up to expectations. The game turned out to be quite closed, with few dangerous moments. Mourinho clearly came to Manchester for a draw and did not put a single “pure” forward on the field. As a result, the most noticeable figure in the Chelsea lineup was Oscar, who made several promising shots on goal. But after them the ball invariably rolled straight into the hands of the home goalkeeper David de Gea.

Manchester United were a little sharper in attack. Wayne Rooney was especially zealous, and close attention was also paid to him. The fact is that Chelsea this off-season made an official offer to the Manchester club to buy the forward, who was dissatisfied with his position in the current team, where he lost a stable place in the starting lineup.

This time Rooney was on the pitch from the opening minutes and came particularly close to scoring in the second half when his long-range shot was turned into a corner by London goalkeeper Peter Cech. In other episodes, the Manchester team's accuracy let them down. Robin van Persie shot into the outside of the net from an advantageous position, and Danny Welbeck launched the ball well above the goal from outside the penalty area.

This gave David Moyes reason to complain that Manchester United had missed out on victory. Jose Mourinho, of course, did not agree with him, emphasizing that he considered the result of the match fair. Chelsea's draw allowed them to take first place in the standings. True, the Londoners, who scored seven points, played more matches than their competitors. Manchester United are fourth with four points.

Spanish Championship

Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho's former team, Real Madrid, is in the Spanish championship without losses. On Monday, the capital's players won their second victory under the leadership of Carlo Ancelotti. In the away game against Granada, Madrid took the lead in the ninth minute. After a flank pass from Angel Di Maria, the ball was handled in the opponent's penalty area by Cristiano Ronaldo, and the decisive blow was struck by Karim Benzema.

Later, Granada was close to equalizing the score when Youssef Al Arabi went one on one with Real goalkeeper Diego Lopez, but failed to beat him. However, Madrid created much more dangerous chances and were much closer to increasing their lead than losing the victory. Real won 1:0 and scored six points. After two rounds, four more teams have the same number - Barcelona, Atletico, Athletic and Villarreal.

Russian championship

The leader of the Russian championship changed after the sixth round. Rostov, which sensationally topped the standings after five rounds, was defeated away by Lokomotiv Moscow on Monday - 5:0. Felipe Caicedo, Alexander Samedov (from the penalty spot), Maicon, Dmitry Tarasov and Roman Pavlyuchenko scored. Ukrainian Taras Mikhalik entered the field in the starting lineup of Lokomotiv as a defensive midfielder and was replaced in the 64th minute when the score was 4:0. "Zheleznodorozhniki" scored 13 points and now share second or third place with "Rostov". CSKA took the lead, beating Tom away on Saturday - 2:1 and gaining 14 points.

But Spartak did not take advantage of the chance to take first place on Monday. The Muscovites suffered their first defeat in the championship on the road, losing to Amkar from Perm - 1:2, and slipped to fourth position.
