The Russian Railways company admitted the guilt of its employees in an accident in Shcherbinka, where an electric train crashed into a car at a crossing. This is stated in a press release posted on August 28 on the company’s website.

The message notes that all those responsible for the accident and providing false information about its circumstances will either be fired or prosecuted. The company apologized to the injured driver and his relatives.

Russian Railways explained that the direct culprit of the incident was a company employee who manually opened the barrier to let cars accumulated in front of him through. At the same time, the message clarifies, the automatic crossing alarm was in working order.

At the same time, the company notes, the duty officer had already closed the barrier by the time the specialists arrived and stated that the driver had crossed the path on his own initiative. This, combined with the serviceability of the equipment, was the reason for the appearance of false information in the report.

The accident occurred in the early morning of August 26 near the Shcherbinka station in “new Moscow.” As a result of the incident, the driver of the car into which the train crashed was seriously injured. No one was injured in the squad itself. Initially, Russian Railways reported that the driver was at fault, but after a video appeared refuting this claim, the message was removed from the company’s website.
