Of course, I have an amateur, but I got the impression that the work of Jeff Hawkins and his teams made it possible to make a breakthrough in understanding the brain function algorithms, and the use of these algorithms in practice (he now has a company in which he, implemented in computer programs, successfully uses to solve a wide variety of tasks).
