The American newspaper The Washington Post first unveiled the articles of expenses of the so -called "black budget" of the US intelligence services, referring to a copy of the document received from the former CIA employee Edward Snowden.

The secret document, consisting of 178 pages, contains reports of the American special services about the upcoming and conducted operations for which they asked the congress to allocate funding. Last year, the CIA budget, the National Security Agency (ANB) and another 14 secret services for the public amounted to $ 55 billion. For the current budget year, the government requested 52.6 billion from Congress for intelligence.

The most financing is received by the CIA - $ 14.7 billion. The budgets of the NSA and the National Aerospace Intelligence Directorate are $ 10.8 and 10.3 billion, respectively. To the specified amount, 23 billion dollars for military intelligence of the Pentagon are also added to the specified amount.

Among the target programs of special services, the most financial warning is the warning of representatives of civilian and military authorities about various kinds of critical phenomena - the threat of economic stability, an increase in social tension or extreme situations in the regions. Such preventive activities will cost the state treasury in 2013 of $ 20.1 billion. At the same time, the counterintelligence and the fight against foreign special services allocated an order of magnitude smaller - 3.8 billion dollars.

In addition, as the newspaper writes, the amount of the NSA has a sum of several hundred million dollars that this department pays to American companies for secret penetration into their communication networks every year, RIA Novosti reports.

"The US intelligence services immediately after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks created a reconnaissance colossus, which, however, is still not able to supply the president with the most important information regarding a number of threats for the country's national security," the American newspaper notes.

According to the document, Russia is still one of the main goals for the American special services along with China, Iran, Cuba and Israel. "The presence of Israel in the document is explained by the fact that Washington is interested in secrets not only enemies, but also friends," ITAR -TASS quotes the newspaper.

The American special services experience the greatest lack of information in relation to the DPRK, which is constantly monitored by all technical means to get the maximum information about its nuclear and missile program.

According to the publication, among the articles of expenses there are quite curious. In particular, long before Snowden's leaks, the NSA took care of the investigation of more than 4 thousand internal threats that could influence the disclosure of secret information.

As follows from the document, after September 11, 2001, the intelligence budget doubled, exceeding $ 500 billion. US intelligence expenses are now greater than in the midst of the Cold War. But as US National Intelligence Director James Klepper said, "the modern world is unstable more than ever over the past half a century. And at the same time, the expenses of the American intelligence community do not exceed 1% of the US GDP."

The official representative of the White House, Josh Ernest, refused to comment on the publication on the budget of special services at a press-breaking on Thursday. But he did not fail to express concern about "malicious leaks of secret information."

In his homeland, he is charged with a violation of the two articles of the United States on espionage of 1917 - an unauthorized disclosure of secret information affecting national defense, and the deliberate transfer of data to American intelligence who does not have the right to receive such information. In addition, Snowden is charged with theft of the US government. For each of these points, he faces up to ten years in prison.
