As ITAR-TASS writes with reference to Vladimir Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov, there is no decree on the appointment of Trutnev as deputy prime minister. “In order for this work (to eliminate the consequences of floods) to be properly organized, a government commission will be created, we agreed on this with the chairman of the government. This commission will be headed by Yuri Petrovich Trutnev, who will be appointed to the post of Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation and at the same time - Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District,” ITAR-TASS quotes the words of the head of state.

The president himself told Trutnev that he expects from him “intense, targeted and effective work” to eliminate the consequences of the disaster. Previously, in the post of Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, which he held since May 21, 2012, Trutnev oversaw, among other things, the issue of preparations for the Olympics in Sochi.

Viktor Ishaev, relieved of his post, according to Putin, will be involved in other areas of work. “I must say that this is not directly related to the flood situation. This is a planned replacement, Viktor Ivanovich (Ishaev) knows about this, that I want, Viktor Ivanovich, to thank you for everything you did for the region, for Khabarovsk, first of all, where you worked for a long time since the early 90s,” - Putin said. The Ministry for the Development of the Far East, which was headed by Ishaev, will not be liquidated.
