Arrests for participating in a rally, demonstrations or picket are threatening to become commonplace. A few years ago, for a protest street campaign, it was possible to get a maximum of 15 days of arrest and no more than 1000 rubles of a fine. After May 6 last year, fines increased ten times, and cases of fabrication of criminal cases fraught with long years of imprisonment have significantly more frequent.
Special cynicism consists in the application of Article 318 of the Criminal Code to fundamental supporters of a peaceful, non -violent protest. At first, a person is cruelly beaten during the detention, and then they are accused of the fact that he seemed to beat a representative of the authorities. People who have not committed any violent action, but also who received courageously and dignity, trying to suppress the official crime are on the bench of the defendants. And the “victims” are appointed by security forces, who just committed criminal acts - excess of official powers, beating, causing harm to health, illegal imprisonment.
According to Article 318, Sergei Cherepovsky in Tver, Yuri Staroverov in Nizhny Novgorod, many defendants in the " swamp business " are judged today. According to the same article, a criminal case was brought up on faith Lavreshin .
Sergei Krivov, a man of short stature and by no means athletic physique, tried on May 6 to stop strong and shoulder policemen with batons and severe equipment that beat a defenseless person - a action worthy of honors and gratitude. Today he is behind bars and on a bench among the defendants among the prisoners on May 6.
Yuri Starovorov stood up for people who were brutally beaten by Omonovets Lebedev at a peaceful gathering of citizens on September 15, 2012 in Nizhny Novgorod. The “ pearl warrant officer ” in St. Petersburg was, as you know, was prosecuted and condemned, albeit conditionally . Warrant Officer Lebedev acted much more cruelly than Vadim Boyko, beating the people who stood peacefully in the square with a club . However, the statements of witnesses and victims were left unanswered, and he himself was appointed victims in the case of Yuri Staroverov.
Vera Lavreshina allegedly caused pain to the healthy verzil in uniform, trying to stop the torture of one of the participants in the street campaign in defense of Sergei Cherepovsky on the day of the trial of him.
And Sergei Knupovsky is judged by the scratch on the neck of Lieutenant Vasin, who detained him on the Primemay procession agreed with the city authorities. This detention looked so illegal that the hand -serving demonstrators stood up behind Cherekopashsky. As a result, Vasin formed a light, very quickly healed scratch, and Cherepovsky has been in prison for her for the fourth month.
Similar arrests, in addition to the escalation of political repression, contain some kind of prohibitive meanness and contribute to the moral decay of society.
I don’t know why of the detainees on August 16 in Tver for pickets in defense of Sergei Cherepovsky, not young people, physically strong, but a thin and fragile faith Lavreshin, were chosen for the arrest. And I do not know who you need to be to beat this woman during the detention, to dislue her, disabled, and already a broken leg, to keep it in prison without any reason. A healthy and sleek silovik, first stomping and beaten by a lying person, and then testifying in court against a woman trying to stop him, is an apotheosis of personality decomposition, the extermination of elementary ideas about conscience and honor. Such people are morally sick and dangerous for society.
Warrant Officer Igor Lebedev, “victim” in the case of Yuri Staroverov, is now on a business trip in the North Caucasus - this was the reason for his absence at the next court hearing over Starovorov. We do not know what this warrant officer in the North Caucasus is doing, but if he is able to clean the stress received there on civilians in the city square, acting with rough physical strength, it is dangerous for society. The fiery supporter of the party in power Vera Ischyatulin , being in a state of quiet hysteria, frankly for a false evidence in this trial in the name, as she believes, the interests of her beloved power - and this is dangerous for society.
The prosecutor’s office and the court are dangerous for society, and the court, which, instead of holding Igor Lebedev to be liable for beating people, Vera Ischyatulin for perjury, Matvey Vasina for the illegal deprivation of a person of liberty and imposing a peaceful procession, make them victims and witnesses. People who suffered from them are accused.
... On August 16, I met with Vera Lavreshina in an electric train on the way to Tver, where I went to the process of Sergei Cherepovsky. She told me that in no case does she consider her actions to be heroism when she refuses to show the identity certificate during the detention or holds a dry hunger strike during administrative arrest. She tried to explain why she considers it important for himself to participate in peaceful street actions in defense of political prisoners, why he considers it right not to coordinate them, acting under the basic law of the country, and not according to the by -laws contrary to him. It’s not scary to be hardly detained, arrested, where it is worse for silently observing what is happening, to live with a restless conscience, with a sense of my own powerlessness.
I did not immediately notice that Vera did not have a stick in the hands of which I usually saw her in Moscow. Only when we got off the train, I saw how much it is lame and how hard it is to go. A few years ago, Vera suffered multiple fractures of the legs as a result of falling from a height. To my question why she does not draw up disability, Vera replied that she did not want to feel disabled. And I didn’t take a wand with me to get used to it without it.
Leaving the station building, we said goodbye. I went to the court of the Central District of Tver, and Vera a few hours later she became a participant in a bright street action in defense of Sergei Cherepovsky, with any authorities, of course, not agreed. And then - political prisoner and prisoner of conscience.
Maybe someone will be skeptical of the style of her protest. But that moral imperative who drives Vera Lavreshina in her protest activity is perfect. The aggravated civil conscience is a sign of the health of the soul. And the faith is certainly the right to observe indifferently and silently, how the power is atrocious, painfully and ashamed, and it is scary to inactive.
On such feelings, civil society is formed. If it were presented with us not by units, but by the majority - neither these cynical courts and arrests, nor the criminally strict detention of Vera Lavreshina with the factory of criminal proceedings against her for defending the political prisoner were unthinkable.
Will society be healed? Will he be able to fall into moral depression, not allowing yourself to convince yourself that the arrest for the expression of a civil position is the norm? Do not lose faith in their own strengths, in meaningful confrontation with political repression?
In the end, everything will depend on this.
