Monumentary provocation

The metropolitan police opened a criminal case in connection with the appearance of one of the candidates for mayor of the city in several Moscow monuments of campaign products. This was reported by RIA "Novosti" with reference to the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Moscow.

The case was instituted in part 2 of Article 214 of the Criminal Code (vandalism for political reasons). Investigators have already interviewed a number of witnesses, records from outdoor surveillance cameras are being studied and other investigative-operational measures are carried out.

According to the source in law enforcement agencies, we are talking about the stickers that appeared on Moscow monuments in support of the candidate from the RPR Parnas Alexei Navalny.

Earlier on Tuesday, Navalny said that the placement of stickers was a provocation of his rivals. "So afraid of the second round that you already need to hang other people's stickers on the Vysotsky monument at night?" he wrote.

“Nothing new, of course. Ordinary small nashism and the development of the pre -election budget. It is disgusting that the mayor of the city, where 15 percent of the country's population lives,” Navalny said.

In July, the department of the Internal Affairs Directorate in the Central District of Moscow opened a criminal case on the fact of applying and stickers of posters and stickers to the State Duma building during a folk gathering in support of Navalny on July 18. The case against unidentified persons was initiated under the same article - part 2 of Art. 214.

Participants in the folk gathering glued the State Duma building, its cars parked in it, as well as a number of objects in the neighborhood of posters and stickers in support of Navalny. On the plate at the entrance to the lower house on top of the letter M in the word "Duma", the letter "P" was glued. There are many inscriptions left on the basement and windows of the building. In particular, the protesters wrote Putin H.Y and Putin Gay! The deputies were addressed to the inscription "Putin thief, and you are bastards."
