On the eve of a single day of voting, several "sensational news" were thrown into the media space, which, upon closer examination, turned out to be the products of black PR specialists.
"Removal of Roizman from the elections"
The other day in Yekaterinburg, an information letter from the city election commission dated August 31 signed by its chairman Ilya Zakharov was distributed (mainly through mailboxes) stating that Yevgeny Roizman's registration for the mayoral elections was cancelled. “Persons previously convicted of grave, especially grave crimes and crimes of an extremist nature do not have the right to run,” the appeal to voters says.
But it turned out that this was an obvious fake, because just two weeks ago Zakharov himself said that the conviction canceled in 1984 would not prevent Roizman from taking part in the elections. There is no information about the cancellation of Roizman's registration on the website of the City Election Commission. Despite the fact that Zakharov himself, having learned that a fake was being distributed on his behalf, personally called the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and asked to stop this fact, Novaya Gazeta asks the CEC to respond to this wild violation of the rights of voters and the candidate and to assist in initiating a criminal case to establish provocateurs and their customers.
“Blocking the website of the Dozhd TV channel”
On Friday, the domain registrar Ru-Center received an order from the Main Investigation Department of the Main Investigation Department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Moscow Region, signed by investigator Panaitov, to block the Dozhd website. The TV channel allegedly violated part 2 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code - “Inciting hatred or enmity”. What kind of material turned out to be illegal was not specified in the request. Andrei Vorobyov, director of the public relations department at Ru-Center, said that although the letter demanding to block the Dozhd website was received on a letterhead with the seal of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for the Moscow Region, it may turn out to be fake. “ There were cases when we received false claims from law enforcement agencies, although they were isolated ,” he added.
Later, representatives of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs near Moscow reported that the department had not sent such a request to anyone, and an investigator with that name did not work for them. In addition, the investigation of criminal cases under this article does not fall within the competence of the investigating bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
