
In Moscow, the mayor’s vote began. In the capital, 3396 polling stations were opened, all of them are equipped with video surveillance cameras. In the first hour of voting, there were malfunctions in Internet broadcasts . According to observers, the video from all weekends turned off for about 20 minutes.
Six candidates apply for the Moscow Mayor. The main rival of the current mayor Sergei Sobyanin in the early elections was Alexei Navalny, nominated by the Party of the RPR-Parnas. He held a campaign involving thousands of volunteer agitators. Mikhail Degtyarev from the LDPR, Nikolai Levich from Fair Russia, Ivan Melnikov from the Communist Party and Sergey Mitrokhin from Yabloko also claim to be the mayor’s post. These are the first direct elections of the Moscow Mayor in 10 years.
The governor’s elections are held in the suburbs - also for the first time in a decade. The region works 3591 polling station. Six candidates apply for the governor’s post: the current head of the Uneneros Andrei Vorobyov, Gennady Gudkov, nominated from the Yabloko party, Nadezhda Korneev (“Patriots of Russia”), Alexander Romanovich (Fair Russia), Konstantin Cheremisov (Communist Party) and Maxim Shincugn (LDPR).
On a single voting day, elections of different levels are held in all regions with the exception of St. Petersburg and Kabardino-Balkaria.
In addition to Moscow and the Moscow Region, direct elections of the heads of regions are held on Chukotka, Magadan, in the Vladimir regions, Khakassia, Transbaikalia, the Khabarovsk Territory. In Dagestan and Ingushetia, deputies of regional parliaments choose the leaders of the republics.
The mayor’s elections are held in Yekaterinburg, Khabarovsk, Vladivostok, Petrozavodsk, Abakan, Vologda, Voronezh, Veliky Novgorod.
In 16 regions, in particular, Bashkiria, Buryatia, Kalmykia, Yakutia, Khakassia, Chechnya, the Trans -Baikal Territory, the Arkhangelsk, Vladimir, Ivanovo, Irkutsk, Kemerovo, Rostov, Smolensk, Ulyanovsk and Yaroslavl regions, elections will be held to legislative assemblies.
