© Channel OneThe head of the Moscow Culture Department, Sergei Kapkov, in the near future, may leave his position: he is “tired of culture”.
This was reported to Vedomosti several Moscow officials and a source close to the Kremlin. The representative of the city hall refused to comment on this information.
In March 2011, Sergey Kapkov was appointed director of Gorky Park, which he reconstructed and modernized . In September 2011, Kapkova was appointed head of the Moscow Department of Culture.
At a new post, Kapkov canceled a paid entrance to the parks and paid tickets to museums during the New Year and Christmas holidays. On his initiative, the Council for the Development of Public Spaces was created, which included urbanists, architects, designers and public figures.
Now Kapkov has become “cramped in this position,” says one of his colleagues. A year and a half ago, when the deputy mayor Lyudmila Shvetsova passed into the Duma, he claimed her place, but Leonid Pesatnikova was appointed. Probably, negotiations will still be held with Kapkov and it will be possible to keep him, the city hall official claims.
